CYNTHIA ASHFORD
Cynthia Ashford has over 20 years of experience in dance. She is a graduate of the KIDDANCE teacher's training workshop, where she studied the latest techniques for youth dance education. She attained her certificate after 120 hours of lectures, exams, skill teaching tests, and a 40 hour internship. Cynthia is an advocate of continuing dance education and participates frequently in master classes and workshops to continue to build her information base. She is certified to teach by Dance Masters of Florida, one of America's most prestigious dance teacher organizations. Cynthia has taught dance professionally, serving as assistant to renowned master teachers including Al Gilbert, Debbie Dee, and Nilo Toledo. She has danced professionally on television in commercials, and her dance credits include being principal dancer at the Fort Lauderdale Children's Ballet Theater, and dancing in a summer stock production of "Grease." Cynthia is currently teaching at the Booker Visual and Performing Arts High School. She also directs, stage manages, and performs in local community theaters.
